Women who desire an enhancement to their breasts may be interested in a procedure referred to as breast augmentation mammoplasty. During this procedure, implants are placed directly under the breast tissue or underneath the chest wall muscle so that a fuller body contour is safely achieved. Saline or salt-water filled implants are used for breast augmentation procedures. Dr. Binur will determine an implant that is best suited for your body size and lifestyle.
Small incisions are made in the crease under the breast so the surgeon can insert the implant. Then the implants are filled with saline to achieve the desired size and shape of the breast. This procedure can be performed as outpatient surgery and takes 2-3 hours to complete.
Most breast enhancement patients are able to return to work five to six days after surgery. Sutures are removed in seven to ten days after surgery. Dr. Binur may recommend a surgical support bra. Exercise and other strenuous activities may be resumed after about one month.
Mastopexy (breast lift) and reduction mammaplasty (breast reduction) are
somewhat similar. These operations are both aimed at remodeling the breast.
The reduction does this by removing a suitable segment of a large breast and
reshaping it. The mastopexy does it by removing skin, sometimes with a small amount of
tissue, or may incorporate the addition of a prosthesis to
enlarge it (see breast augmentation).
Mammaplasty can improve the appearance of the breasts. In exchange for this improvement the patient must accept scarring
on the lower part of the breasts. This operation also permits the patient to
feel better about her figure, to more easily acquire properly fining clothing and
to be more comfortable while engaging in physical activity.
This type of surgery has been practiced for more than 40 years. Maxtopexy is done for aesthetic reasons only. With this procedure, Dr. Binur will aim at improving the shape and symmetry of the breasts.
An abdominoplasty, or "tummy tuck," is the most widely used procedure for those individuals who wish to flatten their abdomen. Abdominoplasty is used to removes extra skin from the mid and lower abdomen. The procedure also tightens the muscles of the abdominal wall. A permanent scar will result from the procedure, but it can appear below the bikini line.
Dr.Binur may also recommend liposuction in addition to abdominoplasty, which is used to remove excess fat deposits from the body. Patients who intend to loose a significant amount of weight or are planning to become pregnant should discuss their plans with Dr. Binur.
Abdominoplasty can be performed as an outpatient procedure in two to five hours, or Dr. Binur may recommend an overnight stay for some patients. Recovery generally takes one to two weeks.
Liposuction is a procedure that can help sculpt the body by removing unwanted fat from specific areas, including the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, chin, cheeks and neck. During the past decade, liposuction, which is also known as "lipoplasty" or "suction lipectomy," has benefited from several new refinements. Today, a number of new techniques, including ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty (UAL), the tumescent technique, and the super-wet technique, are helping many plastic surgeons to provide selected patients with more precise results and quicker recovery times. Although no type of liposuction is a substitute for dieting and exercise, liposuction can remove stubborn areas of fat that don't respond to traditional weight-loss methods.
If you're considering liposuction, Dr. Binur can give you a basic understanding of the procedure -- when it can help, how it is performed and how you might look and feel after surgery. Please ask Dr. Binur questions if there is anything about the procedure you don't understand.
Dr. Binur offers nose job procedures including nasal surgery for a nasal hump or nasal fracture, drooping nasal tip and enlarged nostrils.
If you are experiencing problems with breathing or snoring, you may be a candidate for nasal surgery, or septoplasty. Because nasal deformities may indicate a more serious medical condition, the surgery may be covered by your health insurance plan.
Nasal surgery is needed when the septum (the dividing wall between the air passages) becomes deviated or crooked, causing nasal obstruction. Nasal surgery corrects the shape or position of the septum to improve the nasal airway. Removing a large nasal hump or having the nostrils narrowed can both improve the shape and appearance of your nose. This procedure can be done along with other nasal reshaping procedures, referred to as rhinoplasty. Dr. Binur will work with you to determine the best approach to rhinoplasty, bases on your nasal bone and cartilage structure.
The correction of a drooping nasal tip or a crooked nose also can improve the look and shape of your nose, as well as reducing the size of enlarged nostrils (this is done with small incisions made at the base of your nose to reduce the size of the nasal opening). Additionally, internal nasal surgery can be done to improve breathing. Dr. Binur will evaluate the structure of your nose and face and discuss with you your expectations from your surgery. Computer imaging may be helpful in determining your preferred facial appearance. For dramatic nasal reshaping, a splint may be applied to the nose to help maintain its shape and/or soft, plastic splints may be placed in your nostrils to stabilize the airway. The splints are removed in 5-7 days.
All of the above procedures can be performed as outpatient surgery under general anesthesia and do not last longer than two to three hours. Patients should plan to stay in bed with their head elevated the first day after surgery. Most patients can return to work or school within seven to ten days after their surgery. Exercise and other strenuous activities may be resumed in about 2-4 weeks. It is important to avoid hitting or rubbing the nose for approximately eight weeks. Exposure to the sun should be limited for two months following surgery.
The cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, often referred to by its product name Botox®, is a popular non-surgical injection that temporarily reduces or eliminates frown lines, forehead creases, crows feet near the eyes and thick bands in the neck. The toxin blocks the nerve impulses, temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles while giving the skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance. Studies have also suggested that Botox is effective in relieving migraine headaches, excessive sweating and muscle spasms in the neck and eyes.
Laser skin resurfacing removes wrinkles and fine lines that come from age or sun exposure. Some acne scars also can be treated with lasers. Unlike a chemical peel, laser skin resurfacing offer precision, concentrating only on the areas that need treatment. Wrinkles that in years past would have been considered untreatable can now be safely removed. Skin should be fully regrown two weeks after treatment.
Laser skin resurfacing to improve cosmetic flaws, such as wrinkles, acne scars, and aging and sun-damaged skin, is the latest scientific breakthrough in skin rejuvenation. It's a big decision to have laser skin resurfacing but it can have a significant impact on your life.

Using a wand-like laser hand piece, undesired skin cells and wrinkles literally disappear in a puff of mist and are replaced by fresh skin cells. One of the laser skin resurfacing most significant advantages over traditional techniques for skin resurfacing is that treatment is relatively bloodless. The laser skin resurfacing procedure also offers more control in the depth of penetration of the skin's surface, allowing an increased degree of precision and safety in treating delicate areas.
Discomfort is usually minor during laser skin resurfacing, and your dermatologic surgeon can discuss the administration of any pain medication prior to treatment. Following laser skin resurfacing, the treated areas usually are kept moist with ointment or surgical bandages for the first few days. The skin is typically red or pink and may be covered with a fine crust. The treated sites must be protected from sunlight after the procedure. Once healing is completed, sun block lotion should be applied. In some laser skin resurfacing cases, a pink surface color may remain for several days to several months. Make-up can be worn after about 7-14 days.
Laser resurfacing is not a substitute for a facelift, nor can the procedure eliminate excessive skin or jowls. However, by tightening loose skin, laser skin resurfacing can improve certain folds and creases. Laser resurfacing offers an alternative to traditional resurfacing methods like dermabrasion, and can also work well in conjunction with or as an additional treatment to other cosmetic skin procedures such as chemical peels, eyelid surgery and liposuction of the face and neck.
